The Vuforia Engine Library contains technical documentation to help developers be successful with Vuforia's SDK and create AR applications. It is well organized, organized by major feature categories like Image, Objects and Environments. It supports the three major native platforms: iOS, Android and UWP. It is also replete with Vuforia Engine API documentation that includes C# APIs for Unity, C++ APIs for iOS and UWP and Java for Android. Vuforia Engine has a thriving community of developers; over half a million developers have chosen the advanced computer vision, calibrated performance and cross-platform reach of Vuforia Engine, making it the most popular AR on the planet.
Vuforia Engine 8.5, released by PTC in Oct 2019 introduces a new API that allows for a “Static” or “Adaptive” mode. When the real-world model remains stationary, like a large industrial machine, implementing the “Static” API will use significantly less processing power. This enables a longer lasting and higher performance experience for those models. For objects that won’t be stationary the “Adaptive” API allows for a continued robust experience.
